G.Foam boards exhibit a wavy texture
Foam boards exhibit a wavy texture.
The appearance of a wavy texture in foam boards is a common problem during the production of XPS, EPS,
and PET insulation foam boards. We offer corresponding solutions for different causes.
1. Improper adjustment of the leveling machine's pressure plate: Re-adjust the height of the leveling machine's pressure plate, gradually reducing the gap until the appropriate distance is reached.
During this process, observe the molding of the extruded plastic sheet.
The optimal height is reached when the wavy texture disappears.
2. If the mold opening is too small, resulting in insufficient material flow: Adjust the mold screws to increase the material output.
3. Nozzle temperature is too high: Lower the nozzle temperature.
4. The material extrusion speed from the mold is too fast: If the material extrusion speed from the mold is too fast, the traction roller is set too deep, and the traction machine speed is too slow, resulting in a mismatch between the material extrusion speed and the traction speed, causing material accumulation and the formation of a wavy texture. Tighten the screws in the center of the mold appropriately to reduce the amount of material extruded. Alternatively, adjust the height of the traction machine's rubber rollers upwards to increase the traction speed of the extruded sheet.
